Thumb Peg is an offline game. It has no backend, no account system and no analytics. This page explains, in plain terms, everything the app touches on your device and why.
1What we collect
Nothing is collected, transmitted, sold or shared. Thumb Peg makes no network requests of any kind. There is no server to send data to, and no third party receives anything from the app.
2What is stored, and where
Everything the app remembers stays on your device, in Apple's standard local app storage (UserDefaults). This covers:
- Your season progress, league table, fixtures and match results
- Your chosen woods (size, weight, bias and finish) and honours earned
- App preferences such as music, sound effects, haptics and reminder settings
None of this data ever leaves your device. Deleting the app deletes this data with it.
3Camera and photo library
The "Match my own woods" feature lets you take a photo, or choose one from your photo library, of your real bowls. The app samples the photo's colours on your device to theme your in-game wood emblem. The photo is processed locally and is never uploaded, stored on a server, or shared with anyone. You can decline camera or photo access and still use every other part of the app.
4Notifications
If you turn on fixture or Evening Mark reminders, Thumb Peg schedules local notifications directly on your device using information already stored there. No push notification service or remote server is involved, and nothing about your schedule is sent anywhere.
5Children's privacy
Thumb Peg does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
